In this work, a nylon wire cutting type holding and release mechanism was proposed for use of 3U CubeSat’s deployable solar panel. The mechanism is based on nichrome burn wire cutting method; although it provides a high loading capability, multi-plane constraints, reliable releasing the holding restraint. A simulation model of 3U deployable solar panel module was investigated through the dynamic and thermal analysis to validate the effectiveness of the design.
